Mom's birthday

Mom had a great birthday - she was so happy and loved the cake (which was gluten-free) and just went on and on how wonderful it was. Thanks to All Saints and Jacque Chase for sending flowers - mom loves flowers. She also got all of your cards. More on this entry later...

Mark,
Please tell Rita that she has been in my prayers since I heard about her battle with cancer from Shawn Mena. We missed her at the TSCA convention and especially at the Past Presidents' Luncheon where we even talked about her. I mentioned that I remembered when she was President of TSCA and had such a wonderful wardrobe that weekend. Others mentioned her Presidential speech. Rita was one of my mentors when I started coaching and will always be special to me. Give her my love.

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY RITA!! HAD NO IDEA THAT YOU WERE ILL. GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE WITH FAMILY AND THAT YOU'RE RESPONDING TO TREATMENT.

CONTINUE TO "LIVE STRONG" - I KNOW FIRST HAND HOW HARD CANCER CAN BE ON BOTH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I ALSO KNOW THAT YOU'RE A TRUE "TEXAS WOMAN" AND WILL NOT LET THIS GET YOU DOWN.

LOVE & PRAYERS,

Happy Birthday Mrs. Harlien! Hi Mark! Priscilla Viescas Sanchez here. This link was passed on to me a few days ago from Ann Horak...
Thank you much for sharing. About a month or so ago you had been on my mind quite a bit. I had inquired about you with Ann at a Cub Scout camp (Our boys are in Cubsouts together). Anyway amazing.. I must have gotten the vibes. My prayers are with you now and have been before as well since I had been thinking about you. My sister Christy is at MD Anderson as well. She has been there since June and I spent all summer there with her while my husband played Mr. Mom. She(We)too had experienced the same fear and amazement at all that goes on with this; records, doctors, getting in, being heard, , chemo, blood counts. Phew!!! Not for sissies! (It's a good thing I'm a bitch I tell you- with some of the Doctors here in El Paso she would have died if we didn't PUSH PUSH PUSH!) You keep up the good fight and we will too! If you care to email me I can be reached at priskyla@email.com
